Web 2.0 and interconnectivity has drilled down to a new level of local, with the online premier of Street Advisor this week. This fun site allows residents to rate and write about the streets on which they live. The reviewer can rate the livability of the street, the neighbors, convenience to shopping, medical care, schools and restaurants and more.
But is it really gossip?
Once populated with street reviews, StreetAdvisor.com should allow prospective home buyers to further research not only neighborhoods, but the desirability of streets and the neighbors. It should be a great tool for real estate agents, buyers, sellers and anyone wanting to check out the streets where we live, or are considering.
The site even offers a blog and announcement page. Its certainly worth a visit!
Erin: Somehow, StreetAdvisor and the like bring us closer to the intent of Web 2.0
And in the process of writing about the streets on which they live, the writers may come to know their neighbors and neighborhoods just a little bit better….
